A gift shop, a place that is warm, inviting, filled with love, kindness, and unique treasures! 

I love to poke around a gift shop; it's one of my favorite pastimes! I also love to give, so it's a win-win for me. 

I've always dreamed of owning my own business, but never thought that would come to fruition.  

I recently took a pottery class with a wonderful woman who completely blew away my pre-conceived notions of what a pottery professional/teacher would look like, be like, etc. I had this pre-conceived notion in my head, and I couldn't have been more off the mark than I was! I forgot how much I love creating something! It's so much fun, relaxing, and filled with hope of things to come! 

In July of 2025, it was my brother Gerry's 20th anniversary of his passing. This hit me like a ton of bricks. I was stunned! It's been 20 years! But those dates, for some strange reason, hold a lot of power! Gerry was a wonderful person; he was kind, loving, full of life, and oh so generous! He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He had the very best laugh and gave the best hugs. 

After Gerry passed, I always wanted to come up with a way to honor him and the mark he made on this world, but I could never come up with the "how". Then fast forward 12 years after Gerry's death, and my worst nightmare happened: my only other brother, Robert, was taken from us as well. 

Robert was a loving husband, a fantastic uncle, a great big brother, who also gave the very best hugs, and an outstanding woodworker.  The items he made were just stunning! The time, energy, and love he put into each piece were truly evident.  He crafted beautiful jewelry boxes, exquisite furniture for his wife and their home, and a fantastic bed for my sons that will outlast all of us! This thing is a tank! He beamed with pride whenever anyone spoke of how much they loved and admired his creations.  

So now I knew, I wanted to open a gift shop and create at least some of its inventory. Yes! This is it! They would be so proud of me! Now to come up with a name… 

Every day is a gift… Untie the Ribbons! Carpe Diem Folks! Aha! This is a phrase I happen to use from time to time. I was so very excited! I wanted to spread the word and shout it from the rooftops; however, that was a tad premature! There was a lot of work to be done! 

I hope you enjoy my gift shop as much as I have enjoyed creating it!
